ViziLite Plus

ViziLite Plus

There’s one step in your dental visit you can’t live without: Oral Cancer Screening.

Oral cancer is one of the most curable diseases when it’s caught early. That why Dr. Sakai office has started performing an annual ViziLite exam, in combination with a conventional visual examination. ViziLite Plus uses technology that has been proven successful in identifying precancerous and cancerous abnormalities.

ViziLite Plus helps your dentist identify oral lesions at their earliest stages of development. When premalignant lesions or early stage oral cancer is found, treatment is simpler, less invasive and more than 90% successful.

Are you at risk for oral cancer? Virtually everyone is.

INCREASED RISK
*Patients age 18-39 without lifestyle risk factors

HIGH RISK
*Patients age 40 and older without lifestyle risk factors
*Tobacco users (any age, and type)

HIGHEST RISK
*Patients age 40 and older with lifestyle risk factors (tobacco use/alcohol consumption)
*Patients with history of oral cancer

The American Cancer Society estimates a 5.5% increase in new cases of oral cancer and a 1.5% increase in deaths associated with oral cancer.

And if you think you are not at risk for oral cancer, think again: 25% of oral cancers occur in people who don’t smoke and have no other lifestyle risk factors. Virtually everyone is at risk for oral cancer, including you. That’s why you dentist recommends a simple, potentially lifesaving screening exam:

By mentioning the Ad at the top of the Blog you can receive $10.00 off your screening. Call today to make an appointment!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

We have much to be grateful for in 2007, Black's Bridge is finally re-opend. The closing didn't affect our practice much but we understand it was an inconvenience for everyone and our thanks to those who dealt with the detour. The vehicle traffic has really picked up! A thank you goes out to Crafton Borough.

Our staff has grown again this year with the addition of another hygienist, Rachel Magnuson a graduate from West Liberty State College, and along with the rest of the staff Rachel has been trained in the Soft Tissue Management program we had incorporated last year. With the growth of the hygiene department we have found the need to also expand the preventive department and have found the need to add an additional dental assistant, Sara Allen. Genevieve is back after a short absence and the rest of the staff Joni, Nicole, and Gale as well as I are glad to have her back.

Continuing education is an important part of our practice and this year we have attended many seminars on such subjects as Soft Tissue Management, Vizilite oral cancer screening, Esthetic dentistry, and Periodontal Therapy. We are continuing to add new technologies while maintaing our emphasis on periodontal health and preventive care.

On be half of myself ant the staff I would like to wish you a very happy holiday season.

Dr. C.H. Sakai
